The NDIS Navigator supports parents and carers at Ashwood School to understand, navigate and access the supports available through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The NDIS can sometimes be complex, and the Navigator is available to provide information and guidance to help families understand their options and make informed decisions about the supports available for their child.
Support may include guidance with applying for the NDIS, understanding available supports, preparing for plan reviews and accessing information at important transition points.
The NDIS Navigator also works with parents and carers, school staff and relevant services to support positive connections and collaboration around the needs of students.
Parents and carers are welcome to speak with the NDIS Navigator for information and guidance about the NDIS and the supports available to their child.
The Victorian Department of Education has developed an easy-read resource for parents and carers that explains the role of NDIS Navigators and how they can support families.
