Our Secondary School is a place where students aged 13-18 discover their strengths, explore their interests and build the confidence they need for life beyond school. Students are active participants in their learning, with opportunities to make choices, express their ideas and take ownership of their goals and achievements. We celebrate the strengths, abilities and interests of every student, creating an environment where they feel valued, connected and empowered to succeed.
Learning experiences are designed to engage students, build on their strengths and spark curiosity, creativity and problem-solving. Through classroom, specialist and community experiences, students develop confidence, resilience and communication skills as they work towards their individual goals, and come to see themselves as capable learners.
Our timetable includes the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Humanities and Science, alongside specialist programs in Physical Education, Visual Arts, Food Technology, Digital Technology and Performing Arts. Outdoor Education, electives, excursions, camps and community activities complement these, giving students the chance to try new things, develop their interests and contribute to their school and wider community. Programs such as Mini Woolies and the Compass Award help students build confidence, work collaboratively and take on new challenges.
Wellbeing and the explicit teaching of Personal and Social Capabilities are central to our approach. Through SWPBS (School Wide Positive Behaviour Support), Respectful Relationships and other wellbeing programs, students learn to build positive relationships, manage their emotions, communicate effectively and make safe, responsible and respectful choices. Student voice and agency are highly valued: students contribute to school life through leadership opportunities, student-led assemblies and their Student Support Group (SSG) meetings.
In Years 11 and 12, students undertake the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC), covering Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related Skills, Personal Development Skills and Digital Literacy, alongside electives such as Art and Design, Food Studies and Horticulture. Our Post-School Pathways program works closely with students and families to explore further education, training and employment options and shape a pathway that reflects each student’s strengths, interests and aspirations.
Welcome to the Secondary School, a community where students embrace new opportunities and find their place in the wider world.
