Ashwood School provides a progressive, dynamic and supportive community.  Our school involves parents in a number of ways:

The Ashwood Parents and Friends Association (P&F) is open to all parents and carers of students enrolled at Ashwood School. The P&F organise social events, fundraising activities and information sessions. Money from fundraising efforts is spent on the students and/or the school. The P&F also runs a Second Hand Uniform Shop.

A parent from each class is nominated as class representative on a yearly basis. These people become the link person for that group, liaising with the teacher and families and the P&F, providing a welcome contact for new families and assisting with organisational issues, eg promoting P&F activities, having class get-togethers and canvassing parent views on school matters. The scheme enhances the extensive communication networks and promotes opportunities for parent participation in and support for the school. Parent representatives for classes are published and distributed each year.

A Parent Buddy is offered to all new families who enrol at the school. A matched buddy contacts a new parent/s to welcome them to the school community. They meet and deliver the Parent Information Booklet, invite them to parent/family evenings and generally be the friendly face of Ashwood.
