Our Speech Pathology program supports students to develop the communication skills they need to participate successfully in learning and everyday school life. Working within the classroom and across the school environment, our Speech Pathologist collaborates with teachers to embed communication strategies into daily learning. Support may include the use of visual supports, social stories and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to help students understand, express themselves and engage with others. This collaborative approach ensures students can access learning in the classroom, playground and wider school community. All classes in the Primary School engage in a weekly group speech pathology session with their classroom teacher.
Our Occupational Therapy program supports students to develop the functional skills needed for learning, independence and participation at school. Our Occupational Therapist works alongside teachers within the classroom and school environment to provide strategies that support students' sensory and functional needs. This includes strategies to develop self-regulation, interoception, gross and fine motor development, and classroom adjustments that promote successful participation. By embedding these strategies into everyday learning, students are supported to access the classroom, playground and wider school community with greater confidence and independence. All classes in the Primary School engage in a weekly group occupational therapy session with their classroom teacher.
