Planning for life after Ashwood School is an important part of the Senior Secondary experience. We recognise that every student has different strengths, interests, goals and aspirations, and that each young person’s pathway beyond school will look different.
Our Post-School Pathways Coordinator works closely with students, families and staff to explore a range of options and support students to make informed choices about their future. Students have opportunities to visit and learn about different post-school settings and services, helping them develop an understanding of the possibilities available to them and identify options that align with their interests, strengths and goals.
Pathway planning is an ongoing process throughout the Senior Secondary years. Students are supported to develop their aspirations, build confidence and make connections with organisations and services that may form part of their life after school. This may include employment, vocational education and training, further education, community participation, volunteering, supported programs and other opportunities that reflect each student’s individual goals.
Working in partnership with students and families, we aim to ensure every young person leaves Ashwood School with a meaningful pathway and the knowledge, connections and support they need to take their next step.
