Lunch OrdersTerm 2

Exciting News: Introducing Our Off-Site Lunch Order Service: Classroom Cuisine

We are pleased to announce a new initiative designed to enhance convenience and provide greater food choices for our students and families.  Ashwood School will be introducing an off-site lunch order service operated by Classroom Cuisine beginning Term 2 2026, operating on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

This new system allows families to order meals from a reputable external provider, offering a wider variety of nutritious and appealing options. Meals will be freshly prepared off-site and delivered directly to the school in time for lunch, ensuring students receive high-quality food in a safe and efficient manner.

How It Works

Families will be able to place orders online through a dedicated platform. Orders can be made in advance, giving parents and students the opportunity to plan meals ahead of time. On delivery days, meals will be clearly labelled and distributed to students at school.

Benefits of the New Service

  • Variety and Choice: A broader menu catering to different tastes and dietary requirements.
  • Convenience: Easy online ordering removes the need for cash and last-minute decisions.
  • Quality Assurance: Meals are prepared by a professional food provider following strict food safety standards.
  • Timesaving: Streamlined delivery and distribution ensure minimal disruption to the school day.

Importantly, this new service also provides an opportunity for our weekly timetabled Food Technology lessons to focus more intentionally on curriculum-aligned skills and competencies throughout the week. By reducing the operational demands of running an on-site lunch order program, students and staff can dedicate more time to developing practical skills, exploring nutrition and engaging in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

Continued On-Site Lunch Orders: Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Our school lunch order program will continue to operate on Tuesdays, run by a Year 9 and 10 class and on Wednesdays, run by the Victorian Pathways Certificate Food Studies class. This allows students to maintain valuable hands-on experience while benefiting from the expanded offerings of the off-site service on other days.

What’s Next?

In the coming days, we will share more details about the ordering process and menu options. We will also provide clear instructions to help families get set up with the system.

We believe this new off-site lunch-order service, alongside our continued on-site days, will be a positive addition to our school community, supporting healthy eating while making lunchtime easier for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support as we introduce this exciting new service.
