When Ashwood School established the House system, there was a student competition to name the Houses.  The names of the Houses are based on the Australian Islands: Flinders, Fraser, Norfolk and Phillip.  

All students are placed in a house team.  Students earn points for their house through participating in various activities throughout the week.  Houses compete for the weekly trophy award which is presented at our whole school assemblies. House sports are held throughout the year and parents are warmly invited to all these activities.

House Sports Captains (Year 11/12), House Performing Arts Captains (Year 10) and House Visual Arts Captains (Year 9) are elected early in Term 1 of each year.
